Congresswoman Debra Haaland, “Crushed Turquoise”, Laguna Pueblo, New Mexico’s 1st District, captured in the historic wet plate collodion process of pure silver on glass. This was one of the most important honors of my photographic journey. She traveled very far to be part of “Northern Plains Native Americans: A Modern Wet Plate Perspective”. The original plate will be indefinitely archived at the North Dakota Historical Society here in Bismarck.
This quality art paper 11x14” print is from an original 8x10” black glass ambrotype scan. Each print is numbered and signed by Shane Balkowitsch the artist. On the back of this limited edition print is a quote from the Congresswoman as well. There are only 100 of these prints being made available for worldwide distribution.
As always, the sale of this print benefits my favorite non-profit the American Indian College Fund. Deb Haaland is aware of these fund raising efforts and thanks everyone for their supporting the college.
